Sustainability

At Flora Frame, sustainability begins with a simple idea: bringing real plants into interior spaces in a way that is designed to last.Living greenery has a fundamentally different environmental footprint than artificial décor. Instead of temporary objects made from plastics, vertical plant systems introduce living elements that grow, adapt and improve the indoor environment over time.

Our installations use modular living plant systems designed specifically for long-term interior use.

Living plants, not artificial greenery

Artificial plants may look convincing at first glance, but they are typically made from plastics that eventually become waste.

Living plants behave differently. They grow, regenerate and interact with their environment. Vertical greenery can contribute to improved indoor air quality, sound absorption and overall well-being in interior spaces.

In addition to their environmental benefits, living plant installations bring a dynamic quality to interiors that artificial greenery simply cannot replicate.

Designed to last

Flora Frame installations use modular plant systems with interchangeable plant cassettes. Individual sections can be replanted or refreshed without replacing the entire installation.

This approach significantly extends the lifespan of the installation and reduces unnecessary material waste.

A living plant wall is not a disposable decorative element. It is a long-term feature of the space.

Responsible materials

The structural elements used in these systems are manufactured from durable and recyclable materials such as aluminium and engineered polymers.

Some versions also use bamboo fibre blends, a natural material with low environmental impact that is biodegradable and recyclable.

Many of the system components can be reused or recycled at the end of their lifecycle.

Efficient water use

The plant systems rely on capillary watering technology that allows plants to absorb the exact amount of water they need.

Some systems include integrated water reservoirs that can supply plants for several weeks without refilling. This reduces water waste and simplifies maintenance while keeping plants healthy.

A healthier interior environment

Beyond sustainability, living greenery improves the experience of interior spaces.

Vertical plant installations can help improve indoor climate, contribute to better acoustics and create environments that support focus, productivity and well-being.

For offices, hospitality spaces and private interiors, the presence of living plants creates a calmer and more natural atmosphere.

Sustainability through longevity

The most sustainable design is often the one that lasts.

A well-designed living plant installation can remain part of an interior for many years. As the plants grow and evolve, the installation becomes an integrated architectural element rather than a decorative object that needs to be replaced.
